The first evening dedicated to Sardinian artisanal winemakers will feature the Lepori farm. Francesco Lepori, a young agronomist, has managed in just a few years to establish himself in the Italian wine scene. His Vermentino Colli di Limbara “Zilvara” was recognized as a “wine to discover” by Golosaria 2021, which awarded it as the best in Sardinia, and it was included among the standing ovation wines in the Vino da bere 2024 guide. Literally grown by the sea on sandy soil of aeolian origin, this wine encapsulates the scents of the Mediterranean scrub and reflects the intense color of the sun and light typical of the island.
In addition to Vermentino, Lepori has dedicated himself to the recovery of an almost extinct native grape variety: the Caricagiola, which means “loads a lot,” that is, “bears many bunches.” It is a grape still grown on its own roots among the sea dunes 200 meters from the shoreline, exposed to the mistral winds, which gives the red wine that bears its name distinctive savory notes.
To enhance these two wines, we have come up with a menu full of surprises and nuances
Azienda Agricola Lepori, its history, its philosophy, its wines through the words of its owner Francesco Lepori.
It was a truly pleasant evening: we explored the wines from Francesco Lepori's winery, who explained them to us as they were paired with dishes created by our chef to enhance their flavors. Lots of smiles, relaxation, and an engaging atmosphere that you can share with us through the photos in the gallery (as well as making your mouth water with our dishes).
